Montana Mountain Goat

Mountain Goat are found in some of the most majestic portions of the state. You can plan to see country during your Goat hunt that takes your breath away… both figuratively and literally. Some of the mountain elevations and regions where you will be hunting will be most enjoyable to hunt if you prepare before-hand for a strenuous hike. You should also plan to allow a day or two to acclimate yourself to the high elevations. Not all goat hunting is this difficult, but the real trophy goats are not usually harvested without earning them. Never Miss provides application assistance for special permit applications for general and supertag Mountain Goat licenses in Montana.

Like most states, you should plan to apply for several years (building up points) before you draw a tag. The way that you "build up points" is by purchasing a "bonus point" each year you apply. It is possible that you will draw your tag the first year you apply, but if you do not, you get an extra "point" the following year. Starting in 2013, Montana will "square" these points, which means that in year two you will get your name in the hat four times (2 squared), year three nine times (3 squared), and so on.

Your Never Miss subscription will not only guarantee that you "Never Miss" a special permit application deadline, but it will also help you identify which regions produce the most trophy-quality animals, how long it should take for you to draw a tag, and the average success rate for hunters in the region. Our automated online system will help you choose the best region to apply to, based on your unique hunting preferences.
